The state of Nevada, which currently has the largest backlog of unprocessed Forms 8850, is automating their Work Opportunity Tax Credit processing system. This improvement will greatly improve the speed it takes to verify records necessary to qualify for certain categories of WOTC eligible populations.
This improvement, via a new software platform, is meant to expedite the process to submit a request for WOTC certification to the State Workforce Agency (SWA) and will lead to processing of many previously submitted forms. The state has a stated goal of processing WOTC applications in a timely and efficient manner – accomplishing in weeks what had previously taken years – for their state’s businesses.
We are excited about the increased certification, and increased credits, in this state for our clients! If you have any questions on this automation, or WOTC in general, please contact your First Advantage Tax Account Manager.
