DOT and FAA Employer Alert

The U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Administration (DOT FAA) has posted the following Guidance concerning “DISRUPTIONS TO DRUG AND ALCOHOL TESTING DUE TO COVID -19” on its Website:

In its introductory remarks FAA references the guidance document from the Office of Drug and Alcohol Policy Compliance (ODAPC) which includes recommended actions for DOT covered employers unable to conduct alcohol and drug testing due to COVID-19

Most importantly, the FAA Message includes information specifically related to FAA’s testing requirements during COVID-19 which should be carefully reviewed by FAA covered employers, including reviewing the following two links referenced in the Guidance that reference FAA’s Random Drug and Alcohol Testing Program Guidance Alert and Frequently Asked Questions.
