The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Office of Drug and Alcohol Policy and Compliance (ODAPC) has recently updated its Employee Handbook for use by DOT Employers. https://www.transportation.gov/odapc/employee-handbook-english DOT employers may want to consider sharing the Employee Handbook with their DOT covered employees.
Also, if you are a DOT employer please be sure to sign up for the ODAPC List Serve for updates from ODAPC. https://www.transportation.gov/odapc/ListServe_Notices. Only important messages are sent out by e-mail so this will not clog up your e-mail box. Please note that additional valuable program resource information is included on the DOT Website athttps://www.transportation.gov/odapc as well as a link to get you to the individual DOT Agencies’ Websites, which include resource information specific to that Agency (FAA, FTA, FMCSA, PHMSA, FRA, and Coast Guard).
Please note that the Employer Handbook, https://www.transportation.gov/odapc/employer_handbook has not been updated as yet but continues to be a valuable resource for DOT employers and covers compliance obligations across the DOT Agencies. That document, along with a number of other documents, including the Substance Abuse Handbook, will likely be updated later this year to reflect the FMCSA Clearinghouse impacts.
